The Sacrament of Baptism
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.
Baptism is one of the most important decisions you make for your child. “BELONGING”, the Mary Queen of Peace Baptism Preparation Program, is designed to accompany you as your child begins his or her life in the family of the Church.
Preparation consists of one class with a mentor couple, a brief meeting in the sanctuary following a weekend Mass to explain the Baptism process, and the opportunity to welcome your child into the Mary Queen of Peace community at a Mass following Baptism.
You and your child are important to our parish family, we look forward to this opportunity to get to know you better.
You must be a registered member of Mary Queen of Peace. Baptism Preparation Classes are scheduled from 3:00pm-5:30 pm the second Sunday of each month.
Call the Mary Queen of Peace parish office during pregnancy or shortly after birth to register.
