Welcome Mary Queen of Peace Faith Formation Families!
Catholic Faith Formation Philosophy
Faith Formation is an on-going life-long process of developing and enriching the gift of faith. It is the purpose and focus of the Mary Queen of Peace Faith Formation program to enrich the faith-life of every student and their families and encourage a greater love of God. As well as to give support and encourage growth as a faith community.
Program Goals:
- To assist parents in educating their children in the understanding and practice of our Catholic faith.
- To help our families develop morals, ethics, and values in their students that will aid them in making good decisions.
- To aid our families in preparing their children for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
- To provide a safe environment for personal spiritual growth and learning for our students, parents, and faith formation teachers.
Parental Involvement:
At Baptism, you as parents agreed to be the primary teachers of faith to your children. We at Mary Queen of Peace are here to assist you in this very important role. Parents are the foremost role models for their children, the examples given by the parents are the strongest lessons. Weekly Mass attendance, daily prayer, and reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation are all great examples of living your faith. Parents are expected to review the weekly lessons as well as attend any parent sessions. The parish faith formation program is not intended to replace your role as primary educators, but is only to assist you by giving you resources and tools.
