C.R.O.S.S. is Christians Reaching Out in Social Service
Mary Queen of Peace is a sponsoring church of C.R.O.S.S.
CROSS is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide temporary emergency assistance to families and individuals in times of need. C.R.O.S.S. maintains a food shelf, clothing closet and meals on wheels program. They also provide Holiday Baskets at Christmas time and help out in the fall with back to school items.
CROSS serves the cities of Corcoran, Champlin, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers with the following services:
- Peace of mind/housing assistance
- Holiday toy shopping
- Clothes closet
- Back pack/supplies for school
- Food shelf
- Birthday shopping/children
- Weekend food for kids/kid paks
- Meals on Wheels
- Scholarships for Sports/Enrichment activities
- Mobile Pantry
- Referrals for Health care, housing, public assistance
- and much more!
Our parish donates our Thanksgiving Day Mass collection to C.R.O.S.S., which enables them to purchase specific items they are in need of for the holidays. Volunteers from our parish work in the CROSS facility as well as delivering Meals on Wheels. We also hold two food drives for C.R.O.S.S. during the year, usually once in spring and once in fall. Please watch the parish bulletin for notices of when these food drives occur.
Mary Queen of Peace is working closer with area churches to help keep the shelves stocked. We will be publishing two specific items C.R.O.S.S. is in need of each month that our parish will be collecting. Please watch the bulletin or revisit our website each month for the items we will be collecting. Donations of food, clothing, or funds can be made directly to CROSS or weekly food donations can be placed in the collection baskets located in the back of both churches.
